An Ohio State School for the Blind (OSSB) alumna, Michelle Wagner has been working at OSSB since 2011 as a teacher, IEP coordinator, assistant principal and principal. In 2021 she was promoted to the position of Director of Teaching and Learning, replacing the traditional school principal position.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education, and her license to teach students with visual impairments as well as her principal’s license. While teaching at OSSB, Mrs. Wagner earned her principal’s license which took her career path from the classroom to the administrative side of education.
She has had many accomplishments in her teaching and administration career, but one of the things Mrs. Wagner is most proud of is earning the Carol Grey Award in Autism for founding a support group in Marion, Ohio geared towards helping both parents and education professionals who have children/students on the autism spectrum. She is also a member of the Counsel for Exceptional Children and the Ohio Association for Special Education Administrators.
